Farmers across India are still waiting for the 24th instalment of the PM Kisan Yojana, with the agriculture ministry yet to announce a release date. The ministry normally posts the date a few days before crediting the amount, using its official website and the scheme’s dedicated social‑media channels. No such notice has appeared so far, and reports say an announcement could arrive in the next few days. The instalment is hoped to be credited before the Diwali festival, which falls on 8 November this year. Last year Diwali was on 20 October and the 24th instalment reached farmers on 19 November, after the festival. The previous 24th instalment was released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. Dussehra has already passed, adding urgency for the waiting farmers. Farmers’ accounts will be credited only after the ministry issues the official order, and they can check the latest status by following the steps listed on the scheme’s portal.
Context
