PC Jeweller equity values climbed close to nine percent on Thursday, 22 October, driven by robust quarterly earnings and heavy trading activity.
Financial Growth
The retail jeweller posted a fifty-eight percent rise in consolidated net profit, reaching 330.66 crore rupees for the September quarter of fiscal year twenty-twenty-seven, compared to 209.54 crore rupees in the same period last year. Total income grew by twenty-eight percent to 1,054.47 crore rupees, while total expenses increased to 759.42 crore rupees.
Debt Settlement and Recovery
A major achievement for the firm was clearing its entire debt by paying off all fourteen consortium banks ahead of schedule. The business also collected roughly 142 crore rupees from overseas customers after resolving past payment disputes, marking the start of recovering delayed export dues.
Expansion Plans
The company aims to launch up to one hundred large showrooms across tier-one, tier-two, and tier-three locations over the next twelve to eighteen months using both owned stores and a franchise approach.
Market Trades
Stock exchanges recorded large volume transactions involving prominent buyers and sellers. Cupid Chairman and Managing Director Aditya Kumar Halwasiya bought 5.51 crore shares at 18.39 rupees each on 21 October, totaling about 101.33 crore rupees, following an earlier purchase on 16 October of 5.10 crore shares at 14.43 rupees apiece. Other firms such as HRTI Private Limited and Jump Trading Financial India Private Limited also executed substantial purchase and sale orders during the period.
Context
Jewellery brands in India frequently expand their retail footprint through franchise models to reduce capital costs while scaling up physical presence. Financial turnarounds in retail businesses often gain momentum when legacy bank debts are fully cleared and working capital is successfully recovered.
