LPG Subsidy May Stop for Thousands in Kota Without E-KYC

About 25,000 cooking gas consumers in Kota face trouble starting October first because they have not completed their biometric Aadhaar verification. If these users do not finish their e-KYC by this date, their cylinder refill bookings will be blocked, and they will stop getting their subsidy. Across the country, 27.43 crore users have already finished this process, while verification is still pending for 3.16 crore people.

Market Rate Rule

Kota has roughly 2.50 lakh cooking gas consumers in total, meaning ten percent of them still need to update their details. Users who miss the deadline will have to buy five or ten kilogram cylinders at full market rates without any subsidy after making a declaration on the company portal. Arvind Gupta, who is the vice president of the LPG Distributors Association of India, shared these details about the pending verifications in the city.
