Representative image · PexelsThe National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) cut the minimum qualifying percentile for NEET‑SS 2025 from the 50th to the 30th percentile. The change follows a Supreme Court order dated September 19, 2026 that allowed the board to lower the cut‑off to fill empty super‑speciality seats. NBEMS has sent the revised result to the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). Candidates scoring at least the 30th percentile in their NEET‑SS 2025 question‑paper group are now declared qualified and may apply for counselling. No new scorecards will be issued and the group‑specific ranks stay as announced on January 23, 2026. The board released the new group‑wise cut‑off scores: Anaesthesiology 249, Critical Care Medicine 254, ENT 247, Medical 175, Medical Oncology 180, Microbiology 306, Obstetrics and Gynaecology 325. Applicants must also provide their aggregate MBBS marks, which will be checked against original records at admission. The scorecards will show these MBBS marks when they are used as a tie‑breaker. If a candidate’s declared MBBS aggregate is found wrong and was used to break a tie, the board will cancel that candidate’s NEET‑SS 2025 candidature.
