Actress Radh accuses sister Ambika and brother Mallikarjun of ₹49.70 crore cheque fraud

Actress Radh has lodged a formal complaint accusing her sister, senior actress Ambika, and their brother Mallikarjun of trying to misuse signed blank cheques to siphon roughly ₹49.70 crore. The complaint was filed on Monday at the Chennai Police Commissioner’s office. Radh lives in a Chennai residence where staff regularly sign blank cheques for salary payments and other personal expenses and keep them in her room. Earlier this year she renamed her production unit from ARS Garden Studio to RR Garden and informed IDBI Bank that the old cheque books were obsolete and a new checkbook would be used. On the 17th of this month staff warned her that five old cheques bearing Ambika’s name were being presented for withdrawal, totalling ₹49.70 crore. Radh halted the transactions immediately. She suspects that Ambika, who occupies the lower floor of the same building, stole the blank cheques and that Mallikarjun filled in the names and details before they could be cashed. In her complaint Radh asks for a full investigation and appropriate action against those involved. The incident highlights the risks of keeping unsigned financial instruments in unsecured locations and has prompted police to open a probe into the alleged fraud.
