PMC standing committee approved Rs 1,088 crore to buy land for the Pune Inner Ring Road project.
Project Details
The project requires around 7.23 lakh square metres of land across eight peripheral areas. These areas include Wadachiwadi, Pisoli, Yevlewadi, Gujar Nimbalkarwadi, Mangdewadi, Bhilarewadi, Ambegaon Khurd and Jambhulwadi. The civic body will pay the full cost of acquiring this land. PMC has already submitted its land acquisition proposals to the district administration, and officials from both sides have met to discuss the alignment and land needs.
Expected Benefits
The new road aims to cut traffic jams and pollution by moving heavy vehicles away from crowded central areas of Pune. It will also connect major growth hubs like Lohegaon Airport, Hinjewadi IT Park and Chakan MIDC while supporting planned growth in the city and nearby regions.
