Braden Peters, the 20‑year‑old livestreamer known as Clavicular, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to raping a 17‑year‑old girl at his family home on Cape Cod. The girl says Peters gave her two or three shots of vodka, livestreamed himself kissing her while she was drunk, and then assaulted her when she woke up the next morning. Peters’ lawyers say the encounter was consensual and that he and the accuser had a professional and personal relationship for almost a year. Peters arrived at the Orleans courthouse in a dark suit, walked a barking dog on a leash, and spoke only to the animal while ignoring reporters. He kept a neutral expression during the brief arraignment. The court set bail at US$10,000, required him to surrender his passport and ordered him not to contact or post about the woman. Attorney David Meier told reporters the complainant never reported anything because “there was nothing to report.” He described the Florida lawsuit filed in April as a “publicity grab.” The woman also alleges Peters injected her with a fat‑dissolving substance during a livestream, a claim he denies. Peters, who has about a million Instagram followers, regularly rates viewers’ looks and promotes extreme beauty methods, including surgery and drug use. Earlier this year he faced a misdemeanor battery charge in Florida that was later dropped, and he received probation after pleading no contest to firing a gun in public. ## Context The case highlights growing scrutiny of social‑media influencers who monetize personal appearance content, and shows how alleged off‑camera behavior can lead to criminal charges and civil lawsuits.
