Swiss banking giant UBS has bought a 4.8 percent stake in Indian wealth manager 360 ONE WAM by turning its warrants into over 20 million equity shares.

The Deal Details

UBS subscribed to more than 20.5 million warrants on a preferential basis under a deal with 360 ONE. These warrants were allotted on July 21, 2025, with a quarter of the price paid upfront. UBS has now paid the remaining 75 percent to get 2,0502,939 equity shares. This follows a partnership announced in April 2025 where UBS agreed to sell its Indian onshore wealth business to 360 ONE for about $32 million and take a stake in the firm.

Market Position

360 ONE WAM manages assets worth more than nine lakh crore rupees and serves over 9,000 families and corporate clients. The firm currently holds nearly 10 percent of the ultra-high-net-worth market and aims to push that share up to 12 to 13 percent. Meanwhile, 360 ONE announced that Jefferies India head Aashish Agarwal will take over as its chief executive officer in February.

Stock Performance

The company shares have seen some recent ups and downs after a long period of gains. The stock dropped 3 percent in October following a 12.4 percent fall in September. Earlier, the stock shot up by about 200 percent between May 2023 and December 2024. Shares are currently trading at around 997 rupees, bringing the year-to-date decline to 16 percent.

Context

India has grown into one of the fastest-growing wealth markets in the world, drawing strong interest from large global banks. Major international financial institutions often partner with local firms to expand their reach in emerging high-net-worth customer segments.
