Leaders Meet in Capital

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday evening for a three-day official visit, marking his second trip to India as Prime Minister after a previous visit in 2010. Minister of State for Food Processing Industries and Jal Shakti, Raj Bhushan Choudhary, welcomed him at the airport. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tusk held bilateral discussions on Thursday covering regional concerns, global affairs, and shared interests. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar also met with the visiting Polish leader. Tusk travelled with Poland's Minister of Finance and Economy, Andrzej Domanski, alongside a business delegation. The Ministry of External Affairs noted that the visit strengthens the strategic partnership established when Modi visited Warsaw in 2024.

Tech and Space Plans

Speaking at the Global Investors Meet 2027 in Bengaluru, Tusk proposed that firms from both nations combine research teams and capital to build digital products and artificial intelligence tools for factories, data work, and small businesses. He pointed out that Polish space firms already work with Indian partners on satellite parts, navigation, software, and earth observation. Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar invited Poland to join the upcoming investors meet as a country partner, highlighting Bengaluru's startup and tech base. He noted a planned investment of about eighty crore rupees by the TZMO Group in Kolar district for smart adult incontinence pads, expected to create roughly one thousand jobs. Shivakumar also urged firms like Asseco, Polpharma, ORLEN, and KGHM Polska Miedź to invest in the state.

Context
