Representative image · PexelsHeart attacks in women often present with less obvious signs than the classic image of someone clutching their chest and collapsing. Dr Kunal Sood, an anaesthesiologist and interventional pain medicine physician, shared four lesser-known warning signs in an Instagram video posted on September 22. While women can experience chest pain, pressure, or fullness in the center of the chest, heart attacks can also cause pain in other parts of the body. Discomfort can affect one or both arms, the back, the neck, the jaw, or even the stomach. These pains are often easy to overlook or mistake for other everyday conditions. Another key warning sign is shortness of breath. This symptom can sneak in either with or without chest pain or discomfort in other body parts. Women may also experience subtle signs like cold sweats, nausea, vomiting, or dizziness. These symptoms can easily feel like the flu, stress, acid reflux, or simply getting older. Because they can mimic other common issues, Dr Sood urges women to listen to their bodies and take sudden changes seriously rather than ignoring them.
