Taylor Swift announces new tracks for expanded album version

Taylor Swift has announced an expanded edition of her 12th studio album titled The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, featuring four new songs written following the record's historic release. The new project is set for release on Friday.

The original album came out last October and achieved massive success, with all 12 of its tracks landing inside the top 12 spots on the Billboard Hot 100. Its lead single, The Fate of Ophelia, pulled in 92.5 million official streams in the United States during its opening week according to music data firm Luminate, driving the biggest album debut in modern music history.

Following that success, Swift traveled to Sweden to celebrate with longtime collaborators Max Martin and Shellback. While there, the trio hit the studio and wrote four additional tracks. The expanded album will feature the new single Patient Zero—which Swift teased earlier in the week—alongside Cleveland!, Pink Clouding, and Babylon. Martin and Shellback have previously partnered with Swift on multiple studio projects. The announcement follows an appearance by Swift in an Emmy Awards comedy sketch earlier this month that had already sparked fan speculation about upcoming music.
