Representative image · PexelsExpectant mothers often face sleep troubles during the third trimester as their bodies change. A growing belly, frequent bathroom trips, back pain, and an active baby can make bedtime difficult. Dr Sushruta Mokadam, a senior consultant obstetrician and gynecologist at Motherhood Hospitals in Kharadi, Pune, notes that while some sleep disruption is common, persistent poor sleep should not simply be accepted as part of the journey. Women experiencing severe sleep problems, loud snoring, breathing pauses, severe restless legs, high anxiety, or ongoing insomnia should speak to their doctor. Small adjustments, comfort measures, and timely medical advice can help make the final months more restful.
