The National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. has officially listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange with its shares opening at ₹1,800 each. This opening price marks a 0.8% increase over the initial public offering price of ₹1,785. This massive market listing comes after a ten-year delay caused by regulatory and legal hurdles. Before launching the over ₹22,200 crore public offering, the company reduced the total issue size. After the initial opening, the stock picked up more speed during the trading session. Shares climbed about 1% higher from the opening mark to finish the first trading day at ₹1,818. Ashish Kumar Chauhan, who serves as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the NSE, spoke at the listing event on the BSE trading floor. He noted that capital markets show how well a society functions. He also stated that nothing else shows the dreams of India's future better than the NSE, adding that what helps India will also help the exchange.
