Irish rock band U2 is set to release their 16th studio album, a 12-track record titled 'Carnaval De Luz', on November 13 through Interscope Records. This marks their first full-length album of new material in nine years. The title translates from Spanish and Portuguese to 'Carnival of Light' and is produced by Jacknife Lee, who has worked with the band since 2004. Guitarist The Edge described the collection as messy, provocative, and sacred, while singer Bono noted it features loud guitars, deep bass, and ecstatic rhythms. The album includes the track 'Silencio', which was released alongside the announcement, and 'Street of Dreams', which came out in July. The final track on the album is a tender country song about broken family ties called 'Torn'. It is a duet featuring Dolly Parton, and a representative for Parton confirmed it is her last recorded vocal performance. The song was co-written by U2, Parton, and Johnny McDaid of Snow Patrol. U2 is marking its 50th anniversary this year, though they have recently released two six-song EPs titled 'Days of Ash' and 'Easter Lily'. The album cover features band members Bono, The Edge, Larry Mullen Jr., and Adam Clayton walking in a line on a beach, with Bono in a top hat and black coat in a style similar to the Beatles' 'Abbey Road' cover.
