Filmmaker Anees Bazmee and actor Sanjay Mishra have paid emotional tributes following the death of veteran actor Mushtaq Khan. Bazmee, who directed him as the fan-favorite character Balu in the 2007 hit comedy film Welcome, shared a photograph online and stated that he was deeply shocked and speechless by the loss, describing him as a remarkable artist and a kind person. Mishra also shared memories with the late actor, telling the news agency ANI that Khan acted as a guardian to him during a period in his life and offered guidance whenever needed. Mishra added that Khan did not receive the true recognition and credit he deserved, and recalled how Khan showed him around Dubai during the shooting of Welcome. Khan began his acting career in 1980 with the film Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyon Aata Hai, building a body of work that spanned more than thirty years. He appeared in numerous Hindi films throughout his career, including prominent roles in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke. His comedic performance in Welcome, particularly his dialogue about having a fake leg and being a hockey player, remains a favorite moment for many moviegoers. Fans across social media platforms have also shared tributes to remember his work, and his final rites are arranged for Friday.
