IIM Jammu Sets Up New Leh Campus to Launch BBA Classes This October

The Agreement

The Ladakh administration and the Indian Institute of Management Jammu signed a memorandum of understanding on Friday to set up a satellite campus in Leh.

Course Details

The new campus will start a four-year Bachelor of Business Administration Honours programme with an intake of sixty students in October. The infrastructure was built within two months of the plan starting. The course has already drawn about six hundred applications for the sixty available seats.

Official Remarks

Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena stated that the campus will improve higher education in Ladakh and create new opportunities for local youth in business, innovation, and skills. He noted that students previously had to travel outside the Union Territory for management education, facing high costs for travel, food, and housing. Saxena added that the project supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi's goal of a Viksit Bharat.

Leaders Present

Chief Secretary Ashish Kundra, IIM Jammu Board of Governors Chairman Milind Kamble, IIM Jammu Director B S Sahay, and Higher Education Secretary Bhanu Prabha attended the event alongside other officials.
