Govinda’s 39‑year marriage to Sunita Ahuja has come into focus after the actress voiced personal distress during a visit to a temple in Kolkata. While at the Dakshineswar Kali shrine, Sunita told reporters that she feels plagued by “demons” and has asked the goddess to drive them away, adding that her household feels as if it is falling apart for no clear reason. She appealed directly to young people, especially Gen Z women, urging them to back her amid the turmoil. The comments followed her decision in August 2025 to withdraw a divorce suit she had originally filed in December 2024, a move made as fresh rumors linked Govinda to his co‑star Komal Rani Swarnkar. Swarnkar and Govinda were photographed together at Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja shrine and earlier at the city airport, sparking talk of an affair. In February 2025, Govinda’s manager confirmed that separation reports were circulating but asserted that the couple had settled their differences. She also asked listeners how they would respond if a similar issue affected their own daughter or daughter‑in‑law, seeking empathy from the audience. Govinda later told a news agency that any alleged romance is a private matter and that his interaction with Swarnkar remains strictly professional. He recalled past temple visits with fellow actors Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon, saying those trips brought him good luck. The pair married in 1987 and have a daughter, Tina Ahuja, and a son, Yashvardhan Ahuja. Sunita’s plea highlighted the strain of media scrutiny on her personal life and called for support from younger audiences and women.
