The new Honda CBR500R Four sport-bike has been built through the Wuyang-Honda Chinese joint venture and was first shown in September 2025 in the Chinese market.
Engine And Build
At the center of the bike is a new 502cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four-cylinder engine. It makes 72 horsepower at 11,000rpm and 47.4Nm of torque at 9,750rpm. Dual ram-air ducts sit below the headlights to send high-density air at high speeds into a 5.8-litre airbox. This airbox sits under a 14-litre fuel tank directly above the combustion chambers. A simple steel frame and an aluminum swingarm hold the machine together, supporting a total weight of 189kg.
Parts And Electronics
KYB supplies a 41mm USD front fork and a preload-adjustable Pro-link rear monoshock for suspension. Nissin 2-piston radially-mounted calipers with dual 296mm front discs and a 240mm rear disc with a single-piston caliper stop the bike. Dual-channel ABS comes as standard, alongside Pirelli Rosso 4 tyres sized 120/70-ZR17 at the front and 160/60-ZR17 at the rear. The electronics include five riding modes named Sport, Road, Urban, plus two customizable modes. Riders also get a bi-directional quickshifter, traction control, and wheelie control, all managed through a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster.
Price And Availability
The motorcycle is sold in a single variant that features Honda's E-Clutch technology. It carries a price tag of GBP 6,999, which equals about Rs 8.86 lakh based on exchange rates at the time of writing. Buyers can pick from two colour options, a matt black finish or a red finish with HRC livery.
Context
Small-capacity sport-bikes with multi-cylinder engines were once very popular and have seen renewed interest from riders who want high-revving performance without a massive engine size. Joint ventures like Wuyang-Honda allow major global manufacturers to build specialized models efficiently for regional and global markets. Technologies like quickshifters and riding modes, once limited to expensive super-bikes, are now common on mid-range motorcycles.
