Inspections And Devotee Feedback
Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple Trust Board chairman Pothugunta Ramesh Naidu inspected queue lines, holding compartments, the Annaprasadam free meal hall, and laddu prasadam sales counters at Srisailam on Sunday. During his visit, Mr. Ramesh Naidu directed officials to repair flooring in the holding compartments and interacted directly with devotees to gather feedback on facilities like darshan arrangements, drinking water supply, prasadam distribution, and sanitation. He also served food to devotees inside the Annaprasadam hall.
Crowd Control Measures
To manage high footfall, officials received instructions to identify trouble spots and take strict precautions against overcrowding and stampede risks in queue lines. Staff must maintain constant communication with superiors while managing crowds and ensure a continuous supply of drinking water and refreshments. Temple authorities will use the public address system to constantly broadcast darshan timings and estimated wait times, while restrooms in the queue complex must undergo regular cleaning.
Prasadam And New Counters
At the sales counters, Mr. Ramesh Naidu checked stock records and ticket-issuing procedures while stressing that staff must maintain strict hygiene and uncompromising quality during the preparation of laddu and pulihora prasadams. Authorities will set up three additional laddu counters, including a dedicated counter for women, to handle the heavy rush during the auspicious month of Kartikam. Officials were also advised to manage free meal distribution based on expected devotee influx and ensure short wait times at all sales points.
Context
Major temples in India frequently experience massive surges in pilgrim traffic during specific holy months like Kartikam, requiring special crowd management and sanitation protocols. Temple trust boards routinely review infrastructure, food distribution, and prasadam availability to maintain order and hygiene during such peak festival seasons.
