Citroen unveiled its 2CV concept at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, reviving the French brand’s most historic nameplate. The concept mirrors the original 2CV with a super‑mini silhouette and quirky styling cues. It measures 3.76 metres in length while Citroen aims for a sub‑one‑tonne curb weight in the production version. The front end features the brand’s chevron logo flanked by semi‑circular LED headlamps. Wheels are 18‑inch steel, their design a nod to the classic 2CV rims. At the rear, a black bootlid contrasts with slim vertical LED tail‑lamps that run alongside the rear windscreen. Inside, a minimalist layout is painted in a vibrant yellow scheme that echoes the exterior. Both front and rear rows use bench‑type seats covered in tartan fabric. An 8‑inch touchscreen displays comic‑book‑style graphics, while physical buttons sit below the screen. The driver’s slim display also uses the same graphic style for instrumentation. A detachable radio unit can be taken out and used as a wireless speaker. Powertrain details remain undisclosed, but the production model is slated for a 2028 European debut with a starting price of roughly 15,000 euros. ## Context The original 2CV, launched in the late 1940s, was celebrated for its low cost and simple engineering, making mobility accessible to a broad audience. Citroen’s new concept suggests the company is revisiting that ethos for today’s budget‑conscious super‑mini market.
