India will not see lasting peace until the ideology of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is dismantled, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said in Patna on October 25, 2026. Speaking at the 139th birth anniversary celebration of Bihar's first Chief Minister Sri Krishna Singh, Mr. Kharge called the BJP and RSS anti-people and stated that true unity cannot exist alongside their beliefs. He also criticized socialist leaders like Nitish Kumar for joining hands with them.
Allegations and Protests
Mr. Kharge accused the BJP and the Election Commission of India of working together to delete names from voters' lists at the ruling party's behest. He targeted Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar with severe allegations and claimed that opposition leaders face misuse of central agencies by the Narendra Modi government. He described ongoing protests against the special intensive revision as a second war of Independence and asked the people of Bihar to back the nationwide movement.
Context
Political speeches frequently target ideological opponents and electoral oversight bodies during high-stakes state events. Bihar continues to remain a key battleground for national political parties ahead of upcoming electoral cycles.
