Weather Alert
Heavy rain and strong winds have hit Lucknow and several other parts of Uttar Pradesh, causing trouble for daily life and forcing people to stay indoors. Weather authorities have issued an orange alert for more than a dozen districts across the state.
Affected Areas
Data from the Sachet app shows that very heavy rainfall is expected over the next 24 hours in 17 districts. These areas include Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Maharajganj, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Barabanki, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, and Ambedkar Nagar.
Wind and Storm Conditions
Along with heavy downpours, thunderstorms and lightning are expected to continue. Winds will blow at speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour, while sudden gusts could reach up to 60 kilometers per hour. Officials warn that these strong winds may damage weak structures, and low-lying areas could face waterlogging.
Ground Impact
Lucknow has seen continuous rain for the past 12 hours, leaving major crossroads mostly empty as people avoid stepping out. In Prayagraj, two days of rain and cool winds brought relief from the heat, though residents are also dealing with waterlogging issues. Administration has urged people to stay updated on the weather and avoid going out into open spaces during lightning.
