Uncapped player Mohammad Shahzad scored the fastest century in Pakistan's first-class cricket history by reaching the mark in just 49 balls. Playing for the Pakistan Television team against the Hyderabad Kingsmen Academy in the President's Trophy Grade-1 tournament, Shahzad broke a 12-year-old record previously held by former captain Misbah-ul-Haq, who had scored a century in 56 balls against Australia in 2014. Pakistan Television lost three quick wickets for just 34 runs after losing the toss and batting first, but Shahzad came to the crease and attacked the opposition bowlers at the Islamabad Cricket Stadium. He scored 114 runs from 62 balls, hitting 12 fours and 8 sixes before getting out. At the end of the first day's play, the Pakistan Television team reached 285 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.
