Heavy rain and strong east winds have changed the weather across Bihar, bringing rain to Patna and 14 other districts. Three days of continuous rain have improved the state's overall rain deficit, but the sudden drop in temperature has affected daily life and routines. The Meteorological Centre has issued an orange alert for very heavy rain in Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada, and West Champaran. A yellow alert for heavy rain is in place for Begusarai, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Khagaria, Samastipur, Siwan, and Munger. Skies will stay cloudy across the state including Patna, with light to moderate rain expected by Saturday evening. The weather is likely to clear up from Sunday, leading to a rise in maximum temperatures. Experts note that this is the first time in three years that continuous heavy rain has lashed multiple districts for three days in a row. The highest wind speed for the east wind was recorded in Kaimur, also known as Rohtas. Sitamarhi's Dheng Bridge recorded the highest rainfall at 144 mm, while Baltara in Khagaria recorded 116.2 mm. This wet spell reduced the state's rain deficit from 36 percent to 33 percent within 24 hours. A deep depression over the Bay of Bengal is the main reason for this weather shift. This low-pressure area has kept the rain going for a third straight day in Patna and 14 districts. Patna alone recorded 80 mm of rain over two days. This weather pattern will largely continue until Sunday. Other areas also recorded heavy rainfall, including Jhanjharpur in Madhubani at 110.6 mm, Bagaha at 98.2 mm, Khagaria at 97 mm, Lalbegiyaghat in East Champaran at 92.2 mm, Sikta in West Champaran at 84.6 mm, and Valmikinagar at 78.2 mm.
