India strongly criticized Pakistan at the United Nations on Saturday. First Secretary in India's Permanent Mission to the UN, Petal Gahlot, accused Islamabad of using cross-border terrorism as a long-standing policy. She warned that these actions carry consequences and stated that India has shown terrorists have nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. Gahlot also reaffirmed India's right to defend itself against terror while dismissing Pakistan's claims as false. Meanwhile, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif credited US President Donald Trump for intervening during a four-day military clash between India and Pakistan following Operation Sindoor. Sharif stated that the two nuclear-armed neighbours came close to a full-scale war and warned that any attempt to block Pakistan's share of Indus River water would be treated as an act of war. New Delhi maintains that the ceasefire happened through direct talks with no third-party role. In Ayodhya, former Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust trustee Anil Kumar Mishra and former general secretary Champat Rai are listed as prosecution witnesses in a chargesheet. The case involves alleged irregularities in handling devotee donations at the Ram temple. They are among 133 witnesses named in the 59-page chargesheet filed before the Anti-Corruption Court on September 23. Other prosecution witnesses include former interim general secretary Krishna Mohan and former special invitee member Gopal M Nagarkatte. In cinema, Srikanth Odela's film The Paradise, starring actor Nani, opened in theatres on Thursday after paid premieres. The movie brought Nani his biggest opening yet, but box office collections fell sharply on Friday following mixed reviews from critics and audiences. BookMyShow has now disabled ratings and reviews for the film. In sports, Sawan Barwal won a silver medal in the Asian Games marathon on Saturday with a time of 2 hours, 11 minutes, and 37 seconds, setting a new national record. The 28-year-old Armyman from Himachal Pradesh finished behind Japan's Ichitaka Yamashita, who won gold with a time of 2:10:49, while China's Peiyou Feng took the bronze medal with 2:12:13. This is India's first Asian Games marathon medal since the 1982 edition in New Delhi.
