Demerged Entities

Four demerged stocks of the Vedanta Group listed on June 15, 2026, including Vedanta Iron and Steel, Vedanta Oil and Gas, Vedanta Power, and Vedanta Aluminium Metal. Investors who held Vedanta shares on the record date of May 1, 2026, received one share in each new entity for every share they owned. Market experts state that Vedanta Iron and Steel and Vedanta Oil and Gas are best suited for long-term investments, while Vedanta Power works well for mid-term goals. Vedanta Aluminium Metal functions purely as a commodity play based on demand, supply, and metal prices.

Expert Views

Avinash Gorakshkar of Avinash Mentor Research points out that existing shareholders received these four shares for free through the demerger, making it viable to keep all of them in a portfolio. However, new buyers must understand the core themes of each company. Virat Jagad of Bonanza notes that Vedanta Power shows a strong technical recovery, while Vedanta Iron and Steel displays a solid base above ₹31.50 with an improving RSI of 46.48.

Price Targets

SEBI-registered expert Anuj Gupta advises existing shareholders of Vedanta Iron and Steel to hold with a stop-loss below ₹30 for a target of ₹38, with potential to reach ₹44 upon a breakout. For Vedanta Oil and Gas, Gupta recommends holding with a stop-loss below ₹32 for a target of ₹38 and a higher target of ₹45 if it crosses ₹39. Meanwhile, Vedanta Power holds strong support between ₹30 and ₹31, with resistance at ₹36, which could push the stock toward the ₹39 to ₹40 range if broken.
