Popular YouTube star Jimmy Donaldson, known as MrBeast, recently joined the team of director Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming film Ramayana for a special promotional event in Mumbai. The gathering took place at the DNEG and Prime Focus office, where MrBeast received a traditional Indian welcome before speaking to the crowd. He told the audience that getting to see part of the movie was amazing and that it looked phenomenal. During the event, a person in the crowd shouted, 'Jai Shree Ram!' When MrBeast seemed unsure of what was said, actor Ranbir Kapoor stepped in to help him repeat the chant, which drew loud cheers from the audience. Videos from the event also captured Ranbir picking up a bow on stage while wearing a blue kurta, alongside co-star Sai Pallavi, who wore an orange-peach saree. Ramayana is a two-part cinematic adaptation of Valmiki's epic. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi plays Sita, and Yash stars as Ravana. The extensive star cast also features Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Arun Govil as Dasharatha, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha, Sheeba Chaddha as Manthara, and Adinath Kothare as Bharat. The project is backed by producer Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios along with DNEG and Yash's Monster Mind Creations, with a reported budget of Rs 4,000 crore. Academy Award winners Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman have composed the musical score, marking their first joint work on an Indian movie. The first part of the film is set for a worldwide release in November 2026, while the second part is planned for Diwali 2027. The makers intend to release the movie in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, alongside an international rollout targeting markets like Japan, China, and Spanish-speaking regions with localized versions. Beyond this project, MrBeast is also joining the voice cast of The Angry Birds Movie 3, which Namit Malhotra is producing and which is slated for release on December 23, 2026.
