Hero MotoCorp has launched a new Carbon variant for its flagship sport-naked motorcycle, the Xtreme 250R, bringing the total number of variants to two. Both models share a 250cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that puts out 30 horsepower at 9,250rpm and 25.3Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. Torque shows a small bump of 0.3Nm delivered 250rpm higher in the rev band. Shared equipment includes a steel trellis frame, a box-section swingarm, a 43mm USD fork, all-LED lighting, dual-channel ABS, and braking hardware consisting of a 320mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc.
Variant Breakdown
The Standard model gets an 11,000 rupee price increase, moving its cost from 1.73 lakh rupees to 1.84 lakh rupees. This base variant keeps its mechanical throttle body, reverse LCD instrument cluster with bluetooth, dual-channel ABS with two modes, and three paint options: Firestorm Red, Neon Shooting Star, and Stealth Black. Meanwhile, the new Carbon variant is priced at 1.98 lakh rupees, costing 14,000 rupees more than the Standard version. It packs a 4.2-inch TFT display, ride-by-wire with Rain, Road, Sport, and Track modes, traction control, cruise control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and a bi-directional quickshifter. The tyre pressure system gives full readouts alongside high and low pressure warnings, which is a segment-first feature.
Availability And Context
The Carbon variant also brings a segment-first rear monoshock with frequency selective damping, using a secondary valve to change damping stiffness based on road inputs. Colour choices for this version include Carbon Red with black wheels, Carbon Black with gold wheels, and Carbon White with white wheels. The Xtreme 250R is sold exclusively through Hero Premia showrooms, with deliveries starting in November. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
