Bharat Coking Coal shares rose more than six percent in intraday trade on the BSE on Monday, October 26, on track to break a six-session losing streak. The stock opened at 31.36 rupees and went up to an intraday high of 31.73 rupees, following the release of its financial results for the second quarter of fiscal year 2027.

Financial Results

Revenue from operations for the quarter reached 4,412.60 crore rupees, compared to 3,173.25 crore rupees in the same period last year. The Economic Times notes that revenue grew 39 percent year-on-year. The company reported a net profit of 123.74 crore rupees, marking a strong turnaround from a net loss of 53 crore rupees in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Market Outlook

Despite the single-day bounce, the stock remains down 10 percent over the past six months and trades below its major exponential moving averages. Market analysts warn that the broader trend remains weak. Vipin Kumar, AVP-Research at Globe Capital Market, stated that the chart structure is negative while the stock trades below the 33.50 to 35.50 rupee zone, with immediate support seen around 28 to 29 rupees. Aditya Thukral, founder of AT Research and Risk Managers, added that any rise toward the 32.50 rupee resistance level should be used as an exit opportunity by short-term buyers, as the stock is prone to hitting fresh lows.

Context

Bharat Coking Coal is a subsidiary of Coal India Limited and recently listed on stock exchanges through an offer for sale by its parent company. Because the stock is newly listed, long-term historical price data is limited, leaving analysts to rely on short-term technical charts to gauge its path forward.
