Delhi BJP members and workers held a protest near the residence of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday, October 26, 2026, demanding an apology for alleged insulting remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Police stopped the protesters when they tried to march from Sena Bhawan Circle toward Mr. Kharge's residence on Rajaji Marg. The demonstrators raised slogans and demanded an apology from both Mr. Kharge and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. This demonstration followed a nationwide call for protests by the BJP after remarks made by Mr. Kharge during an event in Patna on Sunday, October 25, 2026. While addressing a function marking the 139th birth anniversary of Bihar's first Chief Minister Shrikrishna Singh, Mr. Kharge stated that the Congress will send those involved in alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision process to jail. When an audience member interrupted to shout that Modi will not go anywhere, Mr. Kharge retorted from the stage with a remark about the Prime Minister's father.
