Brian Gordon Joins PGA Tour Studios as Live Content Head

Brian Gordon is the new executive producer and head of live content at PGA Tour Studios. This move shows how the golf organization wants to take more control over its media content.

New Role

Gordon takes charge of editorial vision and creative execution for all live programming made by PGA Tour Studios. He starts on October 26 and reports to Luis Goicouria, who is the executive vice president and general manager of PGA Tour Studios. Gordon brings over thirty years of experience in sports production, broadcasting, and media. He previously worked as the global head of programming and audience for Motorsport Network. His past work also includes serving as senior vice president and executive producer for the National Women's Soccer League, alongside roles at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee, NBC Sports, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Productions, and ABC Sports.

Duties and Plans

In his new job, Gordon oversees live production for more than 4,000 hours of PGA Tour Live on the ESPN App, PGA Tour Champions, and the Korn Ferry Tour. He also manages recent programming enhancements like Quiet Please and Betcast presented by DraftKings. Furthermore, he will work alongside Ryan Holcomb, who was named senior vice president and head of original content last month. Both executives will help the studio expand its live and original shows.

Context

PGA Tour Studios serves as the main production arm for the professional golf organization, managing extensive coverage and digital broadcasts across multiple platforms. Organizations in professional sports increasingly build in-house media studios to manage their own broadcasts, tighten control over fan engagement, and create new digital revenue streams.
