Muskan Simolia, a 28-year-old newlywed, died under mysterious circumstances inside a hotel room in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, prompting her family to accuse her husband of murder. Muskan had married Nilesh, a bank manager from Vidisha in Madhya Pradesh, four months ago. On October 10, she came to her parental home in Jhansi to study for her railway junior engineer exam. On October 23, Nilesh took her out under the pretext of visiting her aunt, but instead took her to a hotel located within the Sipri Bazar police station limits. CCTV footage from the hotel shows Muskan walking into a room alongside Nilesh and a hotel employee. Within five seconds of entering, she collapses backward and hits her head hard on the floor of the hallway. Nilesh immediately picks her up and carries her back inside the room. The following morning, Nilesh took her to the district hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. Muskan's father, Ramji Lal Ahirwar, alleges that Nilesh hid the fact that he already had a first wife living in Indore. This hidden marriage led to frequent quarrels between the couple. The father also stated that Muskan's head bore serious injury marks, leading the family to suspect foul play. City Superintendent of Police Preeti Singh stated that police have taken Nilesh into custody and are questioning him, while the exact cause of death will be confirmed only after the post-mortem report comes out.

Context

Cases involving sudden deaths in private spaces often rely heavily on forensic evidence and witness statements to establish the sequence of events. Police investigations of this nature typically examine digital records and medical reports to determine if foul play was involved. The final post-mortem report remains a crucial document for legal proceedings in such sudden death inquiries.
