What Happened

Cyclone Arnab has formed over the Bay of Bengal and is intensifying into a very severe cyclonic storm heading toward the Andhra Pradesh coast near Yanam and Kakinada, bringing widespread heavy rainfall and gale winds.

Why It Matters

Severe cyclones pose a major threat to public safety, agriculture, coastal infrastructure, and power lines.
