Kotak Mahindra Bank climbed about 2.4% following a reported 29% jump in quarterly profit, while Union Bank, IndusInd Bank, Federal Bank, and ICICI Bank also posted gains. Meanwhile, AU Small Finance Bank dropped nearly 7% after releasing its quarterly earnings report.

Context

Market indices often experience short-term technical rebounds after a sequence of consecutive losses as bargain hunters step in to purchase shares at lower prices. Analysts monitor moving averages and momentum indicators like the RSI and MACD to determine whether such daily rebounds represent a true market turnaround or merely a temporary pause in a wider downward trend.
