Vinfast has filed a design patent in India for a facelift of its VF5 electric SUV. The patent drawings reveal that the front headlights have been moved higher and wider, the bonnet now carries a fresh crease pattern, and the rear LED taillights feature a new arrangement. Both front and rear bumpers appear reshaped with larger air intakes and revised graphics. Earlier reports indicated that Vinfast was weighing an entry of the VF5 into the Indian market. Combined with the new design filing and earlier sightings of test mule vehicles on Indian roads, the evidence points to a planned launch of the updated e‑SUV in the country.
Context
Vinfast, a Vietnamese automaker, has been expanding its electric vehicle lineup globally and is targeting emerging markets such as India to grow sales.
