Kawasaki has revealed the new KLE650 adventure bike, which will sit above the KLE500 in the company's product line. The motorcycle goes on international sale starting in April 2027 in both standard and SE versions.

Bike Specifications

The bike runs on an updated 649cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine featuring electronic throttle valves and a retuned intake and exhaust system. Listings on the Kawasaki USA website show the motor puts out 70 horsepower at 8,600 rpm and 64 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The frame is a trellis design based on the KLE500. Suspension setup includes a 43mm upside-down fork with 210mm of travel and a rear Uni-Trak monoshock with 195mm of travel. Braking uses dual 300mm front discs and a 230mm rear disc. The aluminium spoked wheels are 21 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear, fitted with Dunlop Trailmax Mixtour tyres, with the SE version featuring tubeless tyres.

Features And Pricing

Styling-wise, the KLE650 has larger body panels and a bulkier look than the KLE500. Both models include KTRC traction control and electronic cruise control as standard equipment. The SE version adds a bi-directional quickshifter, a TFT display, a USB-C charging port, handguards, an aluminium bash plate, and a larger windscreen. In the United Kingdom, the standard model costs £7,499, which equals about Rs 9.48 lakh, while the SE model costs £8,899, or about Rs 11.25 lakh.

Context

Adventure motorcycles combine off-road capability with long-distance touring features, making them a popular choice for riders looking for versatile road and trail performance. Kawasaki has not shared any official plans to bring the KLE650 to India yet, though the brand has previously mentioned that the smaller KLE500 is planned for the Indian market.
