Netflix has unveiled the trailer for its new six‑episode limited series adapting Jane Austen’s 1813 novel “Pride and Prejudice.” Emma Corrin takes the role of Elizabeth Bennet while Jack Lowden portrays the aloof Mr. Darcy. The production follows the novel’s classic courtship, showing the pair’s clash and eventual romance against the backdrop of Regency England. Screenwriter Dolly Alderton, known for “Everything I Know About Love,” rewrote the story for television and also serves as an executive producer. The ensemble cast adds familiar faces: Olivia Colman appears as Mrs. Bennet, Rufus Sewell as Mr. Bennet, Freya Mavor as Jane Bennet, Jamie Demetriou as Mr. Collins, Daryl McCormack as Mr. Bingley, Louis Partridge as Mr. Wickham, Rhea Norwood as Lydia Bennet, Siena Kelly as Caroline Bingley, and Fiona Shaw as Lady Catherine de Bourgh. Newcomers Hopey Parish and Hollie Avery play the younger Bennet sisters Mary and Kitty. Additional talent includes Anjana Vasan, Sebastian Armesto, Rosie Cavaliero, Saffron Coomber, James Dryden, Justin Edwards, James Northcote, Eloise Webb and Isabella Sermon in supporting roles. Executive producers also include Laura Lankester, Lyn and Will Johnston and Louise Mutter for Lookout Point, with Lisa Osborne as producer and Euros Lyn directing. The trailer promises a faithful yet fresh take on the beloved romance, set to stream on Netflix later this year.
