New AI Features

Google Chrome is rolling out an updated autofill tool that uses artificial intelligence to pull details directly from your Gmail inbox. The feature can suggest specific information like flight confirmation numbers, hotel reservations, tracking codes, order numbers, membership IDs, phone numbers, addresses, and credit card details while you fill out online forms. According to The Verge, this expansion builds on previous improvements from last year that already pulled basic details from Google Accounts and Google Wallet.

Access and Privacy

The new capability is part of Google's Personal Intelligence system, which connects Google Apps to the Gemini AI assistant. Users can turn the enhanced autofill feature on or off through their Chrome settings. Google states that all sensitive data presented as a suggestion remains encrypted.

Availability

The update is rolling out in the United States starting today for desktop users, as well as through Gemini in the Android and iOS versions of the browser.

Context

This update helps Google keep users inside its wider software and AI ecosystem by making everyday web tasks faster. Similar automated tools are common across modern web browsers and operating systems to reduce the need to manually search through past emails and messages.
