GeneralHyderabad Traffic Police Map Three Routes Around Khajaguda Junction for Pipeline Work

Motorists travelling through Hyderabad face two months of road restrictions as large water pipelines are laid near Khajaguda Junction. The traffic curbs began on September 26 and will last for 60 days to allow work on water pipes measuring 900 millimeters and 1,000 millimeters in diameter.

Route Changes

The changes block regular paths toward Nanakramguda Road, including the service road and the free-left turn near KIMS Hospital. Drivers coming from the Biodiversity side cannot make their usual right turn at the junction either. Police have mapped three specific detours to handle the spillover. Drivers coming from the Shaikpet flyover must exit early near Timberlake Colony to reach Nanakramguda Road through Malkam Cheruvu. Traffic passing underneath the same flyover should use the High-Tension Road past the Old Mumbai Highway, moving around Malkam Cheruvu and Chitrapuri Colony instead. Commuters arriving from Gachibowli and the Biodiversity flyover must take the Pakwan U-turn and drive past Khajaguda Lake toward Lanco Hills.

Context

Large civic infrastructure projects frequently require temporary road alterations to allow heavy machinery and deep trenching work on busy urban corridors. IT workers and daily commuters travelling across Hyderabad's western IT corridor often face heavy delays when key junctions are closed.
