UK entertainment financier Goldfinch is expanding its emerging-markets division into Bangladesh and Indonesia through new sports and film partnerships. ## Bangladesh Projects In Bangladesh, Goldfinch International has joined forces with 1CS Holdings, Fablemill, and Germany's Akani Group to form the Bangladesh Strategic Partnership. 1CS Holdings is headed by Nazir Alam, who serves as executive chairman of the consortium. The group recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Bangladesh Football Federation to explore building a proposed Bangladesh Super League. This competition plans to combine existing clubs with regional franchises while bringing in professional management, global commercial knowledge, and investment from British and European clubs, family offices, and the Bangladeshi diaspora. The partnership is also discussing sports infrastructure, academies, and a potential National Creative Economy Partnership with bodies like the Bangladesh Olympic Association, Startup Bangladesh, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. ## Indonesia Venture In Indonesia, Goldfinch has formed a joint venture with Jakarta creative company Rangkai, following an earlier agreement signed at the Cannes Film Festival. Rangkai is led by CEO Redemptus Rangga Raditya. The collaboration pairs Rangkai's local distribution and government ties with Goldfinch's global sales network and production financing to take Indonesian stories to international buyers. ## Global Strategy Goldfinch COO Phil McKenzie noted that the firm is replicating the approach it previously used in the Gulf with Fablemill. The wider platform is also supported by a production debt fund launching capital deployment in early 2027, Singapore studio Vault 47, and the Commonwealth Creative Industries Alliance. The team plans to promote this alliance at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Antigua and Barbuda in November. ## Context Goldfinch International acts as the emerging-markets division of London-based Goldfinch, focusing on building ties with local governments and institutions in creative sectors worldwide. Such cross-border partnerships aim to bring foreign capital and professional governance into growing entertainment and sports markets.
