Actor Priyanka Chopra celebrated Karwa Chauth by applying a do-it-yourself mehendi design on her hands that included the initials of her husband Nick Jonas and their daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. Sharing photos on Instagram Stories, she wrote that the design was applied in the name of her beloved and also posted an image showing herself applying sugar syrup, or chashni, to help the henna get a deeper colour.

Family Moments And Halloween

Priyanka shared another photograph showing Nick sitting in a chair at home while holding Malti, who wore a bright red traditional outfit with gold details and a matching hair accessory. The background of the room showed a decorative skeleton model hanging beside a dark wooden wall alongside a framed sign reading their paths crossed like two hot wires, pointing to an early Halloween celebration at their home.

Past Memories And Marriage

During an earlier appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show in 2025, Priyanka recalled how Nick once took her on a flight above the clouds in a plane so she could break her fast after clouds and rain blocked their view of the moon at a stadium show. The couple married in December 2018 in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, through both Christian and Hindu wedding ceremonies after first meeting at the 2017 Met Gala and later beginning to date the following year. They welcomed their daughter Malti via surrogacy in January 2022.

Upcoming Projects

On the work front, Priyanka is set to return to Indian cinema in SS Rajamouli's upcoming film Varanasi, which is produced on a budget of 1,000 crore rupees and also stars Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran with a scheduled theatrical release in April 2027.

Context

Karwa Chauth is a traditional Hindu festival where married women keep a daytime fast for the long life and safety of their husbands, breaking it only after spotting the moon at night. Many diaspora families like Priyanka and Nick's maintain these cultural connections while living abroad by blending traditional rituals with modern celebrations.
