Triumph has announced pricing for the updated Tiger 1200 adventure motorcycle lineup, arriving in stores in March 2027 with two variants named the GT Pro and the Rally Explorer.

Pricing and Variants

The GT Pro carries a price tag of Rs 20.99 lakh, while the Rally Explorer costs Rs 23.49 lakh, both quoted as ex-showroom. These numbers place them below competing models like the BMW R 1300 GS at Rs 24 lakh and the Ducati Multistrada V4 starting at Rs 25.06 lakh.

Engine and Mechanical Updates

Powering both models is an updated 1,160cc liquid-cooled triple engine that produces 158hp at 9,250rpm and 130Nm of torque at 6,750rpm. Triumph achieved this by redesigning the cylinder head, pistons, and exhaust, alongside lighter valves and precise fuel injection. The engine now puts out 8hp more than before, with torque arriving earlier in the rev range. Combined with revised gear ratios, the crawl speed drops by 6kph.

Wheels and Hardware

Both variants now ride on a combination of a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, dropping the 21-inch front option found on past models. The GT Pro features cast aluminium wheels, and the Rally Explorer comes with spoked wheels. Suspension duties are handled by semi-active Showa units with 200mm of travel on both the 49mm USD fork and monoshock. Braking relies on twin 320mm front discs with Brembo Stylema calipers and a 282mm rear disc. The GT Pro weighs 250kg, and the Rally Explorer tips the scales at 268kg.

Features and Technology

A front and rear Bosch radar system brings safety tech like adaptive cruise control, group ride assist, emergency brake assist, forward collision warning, blind spot assist, and rear distance warning. Riders also get a 7-inch TFT touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a USB-C port in the tank compartment. The GT Pro offers seven riding modes, while the Rally Explorer includes an extra Off-road Pro mode for a total of eight.

Differences and Capacity

The GT Pro features a 20-litre fuel tank. The Rally Explorer gets a larger 30-litre tank, a tyre pressure monitoring system, engine guards, upper and lower bars, an adjustable folding brake pedal, and wider handlebars positioned 10mm higher.

Context

Adventure motorcycles are designed to handle both smooth highways and rough off-road trails with equal ease. High-end touring bikes frequently feature large fuel tanks, advanced electronics like radar and semi-active suspension, and powerful multi-cylinder engines to cover long distances comfortably.
