R Ashwin Predicts Possible Next Teams for Hardik Pandya Amid Exit Rumors

Trade Speculation

Former Indian cricketer R Ashwin has predicted potential future teams for Hardik Pandya following reports of his difficult second stint with Mumbai Indians. Ashwin stated on his YouTube channel that as many as six teams are reportedly in the battle for Pandya, though he believes Lucknow Super Giants are not in the race. The main interested franchises include Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Gujarat Titans, and Punjab Kings. Ashwin also noted that captaincy is no longer a strict requirement for Pandya in his next move.

Potential Player Swaps

Discussing specific trade combinations, Ashwin suggested that a move to Kolkata Knight Riders could present Pandya with a captaincy opportunity, noting player exchange possibilities involving Varun Chakaravarthy, Harshit Rana, or Rinku Singh. For Rajasthan Royals, he mentioned potential combinations involving Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sam Curran, Brijesh Sharma, Tushar Deshpande, and Bishnoi. Meanwhile, Ashwin highlighted that Mumbai Indians need an Indian wicketkeeper and better bowlers, suggesting Punjab Kings or Gujarat Titans as possible trade partners with options like Omarzai or Rashid Khan.

Context

Player trades and auctions are a regular part of the Indian Premier League cycle, where franchises frequently restructure their squads ahead of upcoming seasons. Veteran players often attract interest from multiple teams when changes in leadership or team composition are anticipated.
