Virat Kohli speaks out on comparisons with Sachin Tendulkar after reaching new milestone

Virat Kohli on Sachin Tendulkar

Virat Kohli has broken his silence on the constant comparisons between him and Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar played cricket for twenty-four years and set many records during his career. Kohli has already broken most of those records.

The West Indies Match

During the first one-day match against West Indies, Kohli scored an unbeaten one hundred and thirty-nine runs. This innings helped him cross the fifteen thousand run mark in one-day cricket. He reached this target in fewer innings than Tendulkar. This makes Kohli the second batsman after Tendulkar to score fifteen thousand runs in one-day format. Kohli first spoke about the comparisons with Tendulkar back in two thousand and seventeen.

Context

Sachin Tendulkar remains one of the greatest cricketers in history, holding numerous batting records achieved over a long international career.
