The Central Board of Secondary Education is likely to release the date sheets for the 2027 board examinations in October, following a two-stage release pattern. The board already made subject-wise sample question papers and marking schemes available on its academic portal. There will be no changes to the assessment scheme or passing criteria for the upcoming exams compared to the previous session. Class 12 board exams will likely run from February to April 2027. Class 10 exams will take place in two sessions, with the first between February and March and the second in May for students wanting to improve their marks. The board will not issue physical copies of migration certificates as a compulsory practice, though soft copies for Class 12 students will be available right after results, and physical copies can be applied for online. Fee structures vary by region and subject. Indian students appearing for Class 12 practicals pay Rs 160 per practical subject, while Class 10 and 12 students pay Rs 320 for additional subjects. Indian students appearing for five subjects in the 2026 board exam pay Rs 1,600. Visually impaired students are fully exempted from exam fees. For Nepal, practical fees are Rs 175 per subject, additional subjects cost Rs 1,100, and the total exam fee is Rs 5,500. For other countries outside India and Nepal, practical fees are Rs 375, additional subjects cost Rs 2,200, and the exam fee is Rs 11,000. Schools must submit the list of candidates online through cbse.gov.in by October 21 for the regular window, while the late submission window runs from October 22 to October 26 with an added late fee of Rs 2,000.
Context
Timely submission of the list of candidates and fee payment are mandatory steps for all affiliated schools to ensure students receive their admit cards. The board releases tentative dates in advance to help students plan their study schedules ahead of the final timetables.
