Design And Features
The exterior keeps its boxy shape but adds circular daytime running lights inside the headlamps, a new front grille with an LED strip, and a cleaner front bumper. The brand name now sits on the front edge of the bonnet instead of the grille. Side updates include fresh alloy wheels and body-coloured wheel arches, while the rear features a revised bumper, an updated spare wheel cover, and a roof spoiler. Inside, the cabin gets a beige theme, quilted leatherette seats, leatherette dash trim, a closed-off storage space near the co-driver, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, and new AC vents. While screen sizes stay at 10.25 inches for the driver display and 15.6 inches for the touchscreen, the infotainment system now uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8255 chip to support a voice-controlled AI assistant. Additional features include 10-way powered front seats with massage, dual wireless chargers, a 23-speaker audio setup, ambient lighting with 256 colours, and an ADAS safety suite.
Engines And Performance
Engine choices depend on the country, but the China-spec model retains a base 184 horsepower 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine linked to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and front-wheel drive. Other petrol trims use a 254 horsepower 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with the same 7-speed setup and all-wheel drive, though the top variant now switches to an 8-speed automatic. The plug-in hybrid variants keep the 156 horsepower 1.5-litre turbo-petrol motor, but swap dual electric motors for a single 307 horsepower unit with 310 Nm of torque. The old 3-speed hybrid transmission is replaced by a single-speed unit. These changes improve efficiency, offering a WLTP-certified pure electric range of 108 km on a 26.61 kWh battery and 173 km on a larger 45.12 kWh battery.
Context
Automakers frequently refresh their global vehicle lineups with minor styling tweaks and software updates to keep models competitive before introducing major generational changes. In the Indian market, companies often test vehicles extensively before launch to adapt them for local conditions and preferences. Such global rollouts help carmakers gauge market response and refine their product offerings ahead of regional debuts.
