Royal Enfield has temporarily stopped taking new orders for the Himalayan 440 because buyer demand is much higher than the company expected.
Sales And Production
The motorcycle was launched on September 2 with a price of Rs 2.29 lakh. The company has already sold out six months' worth of stock for this entry-level adventure tourer. Royal Enfield is now focusing on delivering the bikes that people have already booked. The manufacturer is working to increase production so that it can open bookings again in the future.
Engine And Design
The Himalayan 440 uses the design of the older 411 model and combines it with the engine from the Scram 440. This engine produces 25.4hp and 34Nm of torque, and the bike also gets a new sixth gear that the older 411 model did not have. Royal Enfield brought back this machine to satisfy fans of the original Himalayan and riders who want a simpler alternative to the Himalayan 450.
Context
High demand for new vehicle models can often outpace factory production limits when a brand launches a popular product. Companies must then pause sales temporarily to catch up with their current delivery backlog before accepting new orders.
