Reliance Jio has lowered the effective price of its JioBharat 4G feature phones to Rs 299 as part of a limited-period anniversary offer to mark ten years of operations in India. The promotion targets users who still use 2G phones, aiming to help them transition to 4G services.

The Catch and Calculation

Buyers must still pay an upfront cost of Rs 1,499 to purchase the phone. The effective price drops to Rs 299 because the package includes six months of recharge benefits valued at roughly Rs 1,200. Jio states that many 2G users typically spend about Rs 199 monthly on recharges, which totals nearly Rs 1,200 over six months. Customers receive 14GB of monthly data and unlimited HD voice calls during this period without paying extra for recharges.

The JioBharat lineup includes models like the JioBharat A1, B1, B2, and B3, featuring traditional keypads alongside digital services.
