Bharatiya Janata Party booth-level agents have filed nearly 68% of Form 7 applications seeking voter deletions as objectors in Delhi's Mustafabad constituency, with all targeted electors being Muslim.
Details of the Filings
Sajid Hussain, a tailor living in the Dayalpur area of northeast Delhi for over twenty years, discovered on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, that deletion applications were filed for his wife and son. The forms cited reasons such as being absent, permanently shifted, or dead. Records from the Election Commission of India show that Chandra Shekhar Nainwal, a BJP-appointed booth-level agent-2, filed these applications against 28 voters in that neighborhood.
Context
Booth-level agents represent political parties during the electoral roll revision process and are legally permitted to raise objections regarding voter registration lists. Such verification exercises often involve scrutiny by various political groups checking voter rolls ahead of elections.
