Reliance Industries will announce its second-quarter earnings today, Friday, 30 October. The share price of the Mukesh Ambani-led oil-to-telecom conglomerate closed Thursday's trading session 0.81 percent higher at ₹1,167.40. Kotak Institutional Equities expects the company's consolidated EBITDA to rise 15 percent year-on-year and 11.1 percent quarter-on-quarter. The oil-to-chemicals segment EBITDA is projected to grow 47 percent year-on-year, helped by strong SEZ refinery earnings, no windfall tax impact, US ethane-based petrochemicals, and a weaker rupee. At the same time, retail EBITDA is expected to drop marginally by 0.8 percent with lower margins, and oil and gas EBITDA is projected to fall 7.2 percent due to lower production. Seema Srivastava, Senior Research Analyst at SMC Global Securities, expects Jio Platforms to show steady growth from new users, stable average revenue per user, and higher data use. However, she suggests new buyers wait for a better entry point, while current investors should hold their shares and watch for management comments on telecom tariffs, user monetization, and retail margins. Anuj Gupta, a SEBI registered research analyst, holds a different view and recommends investors to buy and hold the shares. He points to strong company fundamentals, good management, and the value added by Jio Platforms, expecting the stock to reach ₹1,500 to ₹1,700 over the next year.
